I remember the first time I met Harry, a fellow Pilgrim on the Camino. I had just walked up the big beautiful hill you can see in the photo above, with an enormous grin on my face. I don’t mind a bit of up hill hiking!
Harry was sitting on a rock right at the top smoking a ciggie working on his Camino Tan.
With his cute English accent he kept repeating the word ‘EASY’… ‘easy, easy easy’. I was like, ‘Is this kid on drugs? And is he wearing sunscreen’?. That’s such a mum thing to think isn’t it? And I’m not even a mum yet.
But when I enquired further I found out that he was learning how to say the word ‘easy’ in as many languages as possible! Cute, Whatever floats your boat Harry.
I do recall thinking before beginning my Camino, that 900km of walking didn’t have to be done like a shit fight. It could be executed, each step, with EASE n GRACE! Why not?
And I can honestly say with my hand on my heart, that’s exactly how I walked each step everyday! One step at a time…It was BLISSful.
This morning I woke up and thought… ‘Luca… let today be EEEAAASSSYYY!!‘- In English! Nothing has to change in my life or day for that to happen, except my intended mindset!
As I was walking through Melbourne’s CBD at 7:50am, I had this slight Camino ”Easy does it’ spring in my step. It felt really good and I can’t believe how ‘Easy’ it was to create such an internal shift. I even took the elevator today… talk bout chilling out!
Go on… fancy letting things be a little or even a lot easier?! Your allowed to, I promise. And the irony of it all is, the easier I let today be, the more productive I was!
So simple it’s almost annoying hey?! But you won’t forget it cause it’s true. ️
