Best Advice Ever

It was a Wednesday evening after work and I’d finally made my way to the couch after a big day in the big smoke (aka- the city).

Covid had us hiding away behind devices for years, connecting but within the boundaries of our screens edges. Now, it’s business ‘almost’ as usual and after work drinks and shared hot chippies are back!

I couldn’t be happier about that and…all I really wanted to do after work was come home, make a chicken veggie bowl and watch a Disney movie. My inner child runs the show most of the time- can you relate?

As I was multi tasking with the chicken bowl, choosing a movie, replying to texts, coordinating the weekend and cleaning the house- I replied to a colleague at work with the following text: ‘Surrender hun, the more you fight it, the harder it will be. Just rest and watch Emily in Paris and you’ll feel better in no time’.

Permission slip to stop- granted!

She wrote back affirming she needed to hear that and I thought quietly ‘best advice ever Luca, now practice what your preach’.

The other day my partner was telling me his wise advice (turtle wisdom I call it) to a close friend about coming ‘back to basics’. It was in relation to his friends health and his words were… ‘Come back to basics mate and remember the simple things that make the biggest difference- it doesn’t have to be hard’.

Fast forward to lunch time and he was eating his own words with a chicken wrap for lunch! We giggled.

This piece is not ‘only’ about chicken I promise. It’s also about the ‘best advice ever’ we so freely and clearly share with another, that could not be more appropriate for ourselves to hear at times.

Have a ponder…

What words of wisdom have you shared caringly to another in the last week?

And, as your own best friend, share those words back to yourself and see if they apply?

Throughout your day, listen out to the daily  wisdom pouring out of you. We all have it.

And don’t forget to reap the benefits of your own epic’ness. It might just be the best advice ever, that you didn’t know you needed till you did.

With lots of Luca love and turtle wisdom. Their so cute right? x
