All the feels

Years ago, I was riding on a train to visit my sister in a gorgeous eclectic town called Daylesford.

We were about to embark on a mini soul venture, yet my sister didn’t know it at the time and nor did I!

Soul venture= A mini explore, led by the soul, that’s both adventurous and accidently transformative.

On the train trip to meet her, I was struck with an announcement that the train was going to ‘pause’ at a stop 40 minutes out from town. A bus was on its way to collect us ‘miscellaneous humans’ and take us for the remainder of the trip to Daylesford. I love a good transport adventure, it adds to the excitement don’t you think?

Not only was I struck by an interruption to my commute, I was also struck by an Instagram scroll that led me to the page of ‘Matt’ the Relationship Coach.

As I relocated on the bus, I watched Matt’s intro video and I was left with a feeling of safety and home in his words. My soul was on a double adventure- one externally and one inwards. I truly love that.

Before I knew it, I had booked an introductory call with Matt and 18 months later- Matt had helped me transform from the inside out.

While Matt was calling from the dark of the night, I was in the day. A Canadian zoom call once a month left a decent decline in my bank account, but a heart and soul that felt richer than ever.

I vulnerably share this with you to pass on some of the incredible ‘insights’ Matt and I learnt together that helped life and love feel FULLER!

Matt is a teacher of all things ‘feelings’. There was never one element of our chats that didn’t involve sitting with uncomfy feels, alongside the good laughs we would share.

All the feels.

Matt helped me get off the fast train and ironically take the scenic route of the bus-inwards. As I felt and allowed, life started to open up and feel better and better.

Matt was also a teacher of curiosity. We would never really know where the session would take us, but he followed the crumbs of my share and although we didn’t talk through everything, I would sit through something.

Matt taught me how to feel and how to heal. I couldn’t have done it without his help, but also not without my courage and cash- lets be honest.

As the winter season arrives and we exit out of cancer season, the ‘feeling’ month of the year, I am reminded of the power of sitting with the feels. All of them. Sitting with them curiously, and knowing that when we do, life begins to flow again.

This may or may not resonate with you, but if you’re reading, it might be worth reflecting on the below…

How’s your body been feeling lately?

What have you been too busy to feel/sit with?

What if instead of training it- you jumped on the bus for 5 minutes each day and let yourself feel?

And what if you remained curious with what came up and just sat through it, gently, bravely?

And what if you spent 5 minutes afterwards just talking it through with yourself, another or your journal?

Growth is about growing and feeling is about feeling and when we feel- we grow a little more inside. Bravely and safely, with or without Matt!

From my 💛 to yours 🙂 with love.
