We were 18 years old when my friend and I discovered one of life’s greatest pearls hiding in the local swimming pool car park.
It was dark, we were probably sharing a menthol cigarette with Matchbox 20 playing in the background. My gorgeous mate offered me this pearl that I have yet to forget….
‘Give time time Laura!’…Drop the mic.
Simple. Blissful. Truthful.
Even my friend was blown away by the wisdom that just left her mouth.
Give time time.
Have you ever wanted something so much that you’ve pushed so hard to get it, only for it to move further and further away?
Or what about banana bread? Have you ever followed a recipe -measurement by measurement- and been so keen to see its progress that you’ve taken it out prematurely, leaving the loaf staring back at you deflated by your impatience?
Or what about the opposite? Having moments of readiness to take a leap, ask someone out, apply for the job, buy the ticket, share your feels, buy the house, ask for the pay rise… only to self doubt yourself out of the right moment?
Ahhh life! You’re one wild and wonderful Luna Park ride at times. And learning about the quirky ways in which you work can be quite the adventure.
But what if we do have a role to play with timing?
What if we can play a part in what often feels like an elusive mystery?
‘How’ I feel you say?
If we wait patiently for the moment to arrive inside and out.
If we trust the shit out of life and ourselves knowing that what is meant for us will always find it’s way.
If instead of being frustrated with right timing, we became ready for it when it presented itself and then acted upon it with unshakeable confidence.
Here’s an example of my own right timing, a personal share which I don’t usually do, but it feels like right timing!
Yesterday I was sitting in the wait room of the women’s hospital for a post surgery check up and I felt nothing but grateful for right timing!
It took me 6 years in the making to say yes to this necessary surgery and when we were ready, time and I, we were ready!
As a result, it has been nothing but a beautiful healing process, even the challenging bits have felt like effortless effort. Not one part of me was doubtful or fearful and although it took 6 years and some courage, my YES was as solid as a rock. Uluru actually.
Trust the right timing for your life and banana bread. If it’s not happening for you right now, give time time. It will.
Meanwhile, get out of your way and get yourself aligned and moving forward in ways that feel true for you, one step at a time!
And when time and you are ready, it will feel like a rock SOLID yes!
Give time time, it’s got ya x
P.s the feature image is taken by @heartofthelensphotography. Check out Laura’s work, she’s always capturing the right timing of a moment 💛
P.p.s- Recently some clients have followed their right timing and booked in for a Soul Venture session with yours truly. If it feels true, it is true. I’d love to support you.

Ahhh the simplicity! When it’s right it feels effortless. Brilliant writing as always Miss Luca
