It’s happened before, many times actually.
When I would watch the sun come up or go down over Fisherman’s beach in Mornington. When I approached a large mountain I had to walk up in the middle of the Spanish hills on my Camino. It happened frequently when I held my precious nieces and nephews in their ‘new born‘ness’, and even now as we roll around together laughing, dancing and playing.
But of recent, it’s been happening, like a lot. Maybe I’m more aware of it, who knows? But it’s not just me, I heard a close friend talk about the same thing happening to her as she watched her SPUNKY baby boy Flynn, just be Flynn.
I’m talking about ‘That smile’!
That smile that washes across your face without you even realising it’s there. When you get a text from the person you lust or love, that smile appears. That smile when you’re watching live music that makes you feel so alive and connected, you can’t help but smiggle from the inside out.
That smile is the sweetest and simplest reminder that you’re happy. That you’re exactly where you need to be in this moment. Because when something that organic happens without you even realising, it’s something to be grateful for.
I love when I catch that smile out. I use it as a gentle reminder that I’m on track and life’s all good.
Are you familiar with this smile I talk of?
Have you noticed it wash over your face at times also? If not, I bet you will now.
And when it creeps up like a surprise visit from your favourite friend- with cake, then take a mental photo of that moment.
Where are you?
Who are you with?
Whats making you smile?
Then allow yourself to feel the gratitude which follows, knowing you’re exactly where you need to be!
Simply blissful.
