I remember reading in one of the many ‘self help’ books I bought in my first few years of being a social worker, ‘that sometimes we need to put the cart in front of the horse’!
Is your face doing what mine did?
A screw your nose up, eye roll, puzzled and confused WTF look? Yeah, i was the same.
But when I pondered this statement further here is what I translated the cart to mean…
– You know when you see a dream job on seek.com and you read it and it gives you that excited starry eye feeling of possibility and hope… quickly followed by a ‘oh but I don’t have all those skills/attributes/qualifications….etc.’
– Or when you have an idea, goal, vision to do something, create something that feels important to you. And some how, it leaves a knowing smile that washes over your face before you even notice it’s there?!
– Maybe it’s reaching out to someone you care for and not knowing what to say but letting your heart speak it’s truth anyway, gently, humbly, with no expectations!
– Signing up to that course you’ve been stalking online for 5 months now, or that fitness challenge, triathlon, holiday….
-Insert your cart here…
Well the ‘cart in front of the horse’ analogy would look like…you deciding to BECOME ready for those moments, even though you think your not!
–Applying anyway…
-Creating anyway…
-Reaching out anyway…
-Signing up anyway…
…and then working it out while you trust yourself through the process.
As you say a bigger YES to your life, you automatically say YES to growing into bigger boots.
Then what seems to magically happen- if you’re open to it– is the horses appear. The resources and readiness starts to conspire within you, just cause you said a whole hearted YES to growing!
As we lead into the finale weeks of 2018, I wanted to remind you (and I) of this concept so that you can help yourself make 2019 a bigger YES- if you fancy of course!
You got this babe x
Simply blissful!
