I bought this colourful cardigan not too long ago, and even as I was swiping my ING splurge bank card I was unsure if I liked it or not?!
It’s full of vibrant colours- burnt orange and baby blue go together so nicely don’t you think?
It stood out to me cause it was different and brighter then your standard ‘black piece’ which seems to paint the walls of clothing stores althrough Melbourne’s winter!
The only thing about this uniquely colourful piece I wasn’t sold on were the tassels at the bottom of the cardigan. There’s cool n colourful, … and then there’s just too much of it!
Today I reluctantly wore my wizard colourful cardigan cape to work and I wore it with one arm in and one arm out. Metaphorically of course- it’s bloody freezing out there!
Another wise wizard who I work with looked at me with this face of confusion?! As if a 5 year old had dressed me this morning.
I spoke up before he could say a peep…’i don’t even know if I like this cardie- what do you think?’. His face told me his exact thoughts😬, the power of non verbals always seems to amaze me!
Here comes the colourful cardigan epiphany ready…
He yanks at one of the tassels and suggests I unpick them, the whole 35 of them! Leaving me with just a cool colourful cardie – minus the extra frills!
Now, the black and white options circulating my mind before this epiphany landed included:
BLACK:
get rid of the cape or
WHITE:
save the cape for dress ups
BUT now….with my fresh grey perspective, I spent my lunch break unpicking the tassels, collecting them in a ball and creating a perfectly cute as looking cardigan I feel comfy to wear!
Grey hey... it’s quite the refreshing colour of the day if you choose to use it wisely. It made me think, what other black n white parts of my life/wardrobe could do with a bit of grey? A few actually.
And how do you know when you find the GREY side of life? Well, you breathe a bit easier, you walk with a bit more confidence and life feels like a sweeter/easier place to enjoy.
Of course…what a game changer!
