You know when you’re on a flight, and you have no option but to scroll through all your photos because your phone is on flight mode; which means no Spotify, Instagram, Horoscopes or Tinder… I’m joking…..Gosh!!
When you really have that ‘down time’ to not just scroll through photos, but pause, and remember how most of those moments felt at the time the photo was taken?!
It’s pretty amazing to think how a distilled moment can trigger a wave of beautiful and sometimes full on emotions inside. That’s what this photo above does for me.
2017 has been an incredible, fast paced, active, challenging, fun filled year for so many of us. It’s frequent to hear ‘where did this year go?’ embedded into most conversations throughout December. But really where did 364 days go?
The moment above takes me to June 19th 2017. It was an incredible ‘solo moment’ when I arrived into the beachy Spanish town of Finisterre – after 895km of walking the Camino De Santiago. It’s the first time I’d properly seen and smelt the ocean in weeks- after being surrounded by trees, poppies and pilgrims for 5 weeks straight.
Instantly… I just began to burst with excitement inside thinking ‘Far out Luca, this is the moment, like the real end of your journey and….. why the hell don’t you have your bathers on babe’?
As I walked along the coast line, boots in hand and splashing knee deep in the waves like a scene from Baywatch… I was in BLISS!
Trying to contain my proudness and excitement… ‘whom I kidding, I can’t just see this ocean- I have to get in and I’m not too proud to strip off into my bra and undies and call it a walk!!!’ So that’s what I did.
I built a temporary home on the beach with all my belongings, de-dressed and dived into the Atlantic Ocean.
Wow!!!!!
That feeling was incredibly refreshing and surreal even when I reflect on it now! And of course I took a selfie on the beach afterwards to remember that moment like it was yesterday.
So, what’s your moment hey? It’s hard to pick one… what an awesome dilemma to have!
I suggest you go there – take 5 mins before today ends and embrace the joy that you have co-created in your life this year. It certainly will do nothing less then put an enormous smile on your face- if it hasn’t already!
Oh and last thing…
PLEASE share it with me. I wanna know.. shared joy is double joy!! Tell me/us your moment!
Happy New Year all- may it be everything you felt in that moment and so much more. You’re in charge.
Love Ya
