It’s been raining for almost 3 days straight in Melbourne, after we were teased with one solid week of sunshine, sunscreen and gelato! I’m not complaining, cause anyone that lives in Melbourne knows that’s part of the gig. And I think quietly we love it. It keeps you on your toes and is always great for small chat when waiting for your morning coffee.
This morning was the 3rd rainy morning in a row. As I put my rain/wind proof coat on, I laughed at how the tan I have been working on for weeks was hiding underneath a royal blue winter coat.
As I’m approaching the home stretch of my morning walk, in the corner of my eye, I spot what looks like a $50 note flying onto the road! WTF?! With no shame and my running shoes on- I chased it like a single woman catching a bouquet at a wedding. It’s MMMMIIINNNEEE… And it was!
I was a little taken back by my quick reaction and so were the 3 cars of families watching me as I chased money down the road 🙂
As soon as I picked it up- about 50 thoughts rushed through my head.
“Who would have dropped it?”
“Is it anyone’s nearby?”
“What do I do with it?”
“I should give it to a homeless person, someone who needs it more than I do?”
“I can’t believe I found 50 bucks …”
“I could go buy that cute green dress with the daisy’s on it in Sportsgirl…”
A feeling of excitement and guilt washed over me and I felt like a bad person for wanting to keep it. I even text my family and asked them what I should do? My mum writes back in 2 seconds replying ‘Keep it and ENJOY xxx’.
So with a lucky grin on my face, I return home having decided ‘intentionally’ what I am going to do with the $50. Be grateful and embrace it! Simple!
I have coined this note as a lucky $50. I even wrote a little note on it so that whoever gets it next feels just as lucky as I did and still do. This could go VIRAL… No?
It’s now sitting in the trusty hands of a good mate, who needed the ‘lucky $50’ more than I did today. A clean swap of her $50 with the lucky note. I know she will use it ‘enjoyably’ when the time feels right.
